Mi es i i weld drama Hen Rebel gan Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru nos fercher. Roedd hi'n braf cael weld y prif Theatr bron llawn ar gyfer y perfformiad yma o'r drama am hanes y diwygiad 1904/5. Ro'n i'n gwybod bron dim byd am y diwygiad yna mewn gwirionydd, er mod i'n sicr a chafodd y digwyddiad dylanwad cryf ar aelodau o fy nheulu fi ar y pryd, felly mi ges i resymau personol i eisiau dysgu mwy am y cyfnod. Roedd 'na grybwyll yn y sioe am ymweliadau mi wnath Evan Roberts a'i griw i Lerpwl. Dwi'n cofio fy Nhaid yn son am Gapeli y dinas yn bod 'dan ei sang' pan ddaeth bregethwyr enwog yna yn y cyfnod cyn y rhyfel mawr.
Ar y nos fercher roedd 'na sesiwn arbennig i ddysgwyr cyn y sioe efo pedwar o'r actorion yn cyflwyno eiu cymeriadau ac yn dweud dipyn am y hanes mewn Cymraeg syml a Saesneg, Syniad da iawn dwi'n meddwl, ac roedd 'na gryn nifer yna i fanteisio o'r cyfle.
Fel dysgwr, gallwn i ddim gwneud beirniadaeth 'defnyddiol' o'r sioe, er drwy ymateb y cynulleidaf ar diwedd y drama dwi'n sicr a chafodd y mwyafrif fawr eu plesio yn arw efo'r cynhyrchiad. Mi aeth swn ein cymeradwyaeth ymlaen pell ar ol i'r cast gadael y llwyfan.
